My Farewell

Another day definitely for the books. My farewell was at the South Paradise Church at 9am, the perfect time for me to be on my A game. The whole day I felt so much overwhelming love from my friends and family that traveled so far to be there to support me. The meeting went better than I could've ever asked for. The other speakers were Livi Gale, the cutest mia-maid that I absolutely adore, Carlee Danielson, another one of my favorite people ever and one of the boys that live down the road, Hunter Haslam. Part way through the meeting the primary sang a song that brought the spirit into the room more than anything ever could have.

My talk was on service and missionary work. I have never felt so comfortable speaking at church or had such an easy time preparing my talk. I know I wasn't alone standing up there speaking, the words were being put into my mouth. I focused a lot on how service leads to love, which prepares those we serve to hear the about the gospel. Missionary work isn't just serving a mission or teaching about the gospel. It's the way we act each and every day. It is acts of kindness that we go out of our way to do for others that may need lifting, because that's what Christ would be doing if he were among us today.

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom;
 that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow
beings ye are only in the service of your God."
Mosiah 2:17

After the meeting was over we went to the Paradise Town Hall and had all kinds of yummy food! It was so fun visiting with so many people I love so much. It was unbelievable seeing how much support I have in serving a mission. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord and the people in South Korea. I already have so much love for them. I know this church is true. I can't wait to share the joy the gospel has brought into my life to the people I meet. Devoting the next 18 months of my life to the Lord is nothing, considering everything I have is because of the Lord.

Mission Call Opening!

I received my mission call on October 6, 2016. Woah, what a day! I had so many mixed feelings from excited, nervous, scared and anxious. I felt such an overwhelming love from my family and friends, but most of all from my Savior. I was prepared to go anywhere I was called, and thank goodness for that, because I never thought I would open my call and it would say Busan Korea! As thrown off guard as I was, I felt like the luckiest person alive and know that is where I'm supposed to be. I can't wait to spend the next 18 months serving the Lord and the people in South Korea.
